Indra Arriaga is from Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Ms. Arriaga is a self-taught artist who started painting at the age of 15 when a family friend, an eccentric painter and bullfighter, came over and gave her a lesson on perspective and light. She hasn't stopped painting or creating since. Twenty years later, Ms. Arriaga's work continues to grow and now incorporates photographic/film images with traditional oils.
